Abstract

The paper is a personal reflection, interleaved with some autobiographical details, on the meaning of a critical perspective within economic geography. Stressed are the potential material implications of texts, the importance of a pluralist theoretical sensibility, and the necessity of an anticipatory-utopian impulse.
