Sin casa, sin curro, sin pensión, sin miedo. La juventud del 15-M

Abstract

La aplicación de severos recortes sociales en España, como consecuencia de la crisis económica global, ha gozado de un notable consenso entre los principales partidos políticos y las organizaciones patronales. Tras una serie de movilizaciones fracasadas que incluyeron una huelga general, los sindicatos bajaron el ritmo de las protestas. De hecho, el surgimiento del movimiento 15-M como agencia hegemónica en la contestación a las políticas antisociales en España no se explica sin una cierta apatía temporal por parte de los grandes sindicatos. En el presente artículo estudiamos el caso particular del colectivo madrileño Juventud Sin Futuro, que fue capaz de interpelar a los jóvenes como sujetos sociales organizables y movilizables, en tanto que víctimas de un tipo de precariedad muy particular. En el artículo explicaremos que Juventud Sin Futuro emprendió una operación de politización de una juventud no representada por los partidos y los sindicatos jugando un papel crucial en el surgimiento y desarrollo del movimiento 15-M en su conjunto. Trataremos de responder a la pregunta ¿Qué relación hay entre la crisis y el protagonismo político de la juventud?

The implementation of severe public sector cuts in Spain, as a consequence of the global economic crisis, has enjoyed a large consensus between the main political parties, the business community, etc. After a series of failed actions that included a general strike, the unions have decreased the level of protests. In fact, the emergence of the 15-M movement as a hegemonic actor in the response to the Spanish antisocial policies cannot be explained without understanding the main unions' apathy. In this article we will study the particular case of the youth group from Madrid Juventud Sin Futuro (Youth Without Future), that was able to appeal to youth as a social subject which could be organized and mobilized, as victims of a very specific kind of precariousness. In the article we will explain that Juventud Sin Futuro started a series of actions in which it gave political voice to a youth which is unrepresented by the parties and the unions, playing a crucial role in the birth and development of the 15-M movement as a whole. We will try to answer the following question: What is the relation between the current crisis and youth's political prominence?
